Making one candle and making twelve of the same candle are two different questions. This calculator answers both: scale your recipe up to any number of candles and calculate the total wax, fragrance and dye you'll need, or go the other way — tell it how much wax you have on hand and see how many candles it will actually make.

Once you've built your recipe above — container size, wax type, fragrance load — enter how many candles you want to make. The calculator multiplies your per-candle numbers by that quantity and gives you four totals for free: total wax, total fragrance, total dye, and the total weight of the batch.
The batch weight is simply your total wax plus your total fragrance — it's the weight of what actually goes inside the candles, not an estimate of the finished product with containers and lids included, since container weight isn't something this calculator measures.
Nothing here adds a separate "batch buffer" on top of your numbers. The existing 1.08 adjustment is already included in the per-candle calculation above (the same one used on every other page of this calculator). Scaling your recipe does not add another adjustment on top of it.
This is the reverse question: instead of "how much wax do I need for 12 candles," it's "I have 1 kg of wax — how many candles is that?" The honest answer depends entirely on your candle: its size, its wax, and how much fragrance you're adding, because fragrance oil is carved out of the total blend, not added on top of it — so the wax a candle actually uses is a little less than its full volume would suggest.
That's why this tool works from the recipe you've already built above, not from a separate guess. First set up your candle — container, wax, fragrance — then enter how much wax you have on hand, and you'll see how many of that exact candle it makes, how much wax that uses, and how much is left over. The required fragrance oil for that number of candles is shown alongside the wax figures.
The wax, fragrance, dye and batch weight totals above are free, with no sign-up — the same way the rest of this calculator works. What's behind Premium is the business side: the total cost of the batch and the cost per candle (built on the same numbers as the Candle Cost Calculator), plus saving a batch, tracking production, and the other tools for running this as more than a one-off — inventory, invoicing, and a PDF record of what you made.
Yes — both the scaling and the "how many candles" calculation use the recipe you set up above (container size, wax, fragrance load). There's no separate batch-only recipe to fill in twice.
No — the existing 1.08 adjustment is already included in the per-candle calculation the same way it is everywhere else on this site; multiplying it by your batch size doesn't add a second adjustment on top.
It depends on your container size and fragrance load, since fragrance is part of what fills the container rather than added on top of the wax. Set up your recipe above, then enter 1000 g in "wax you have" to get the exact number for your specific candle rather than a generic average.
Yes, with Premium — it uses the same cost engine as the Candle Cost Calculator, scaled to your batch size, plus the cost per candle.
Yes — if you've mixed wax types in the recipe above, the batch totals scale that blend the same way, no separate setup needed.
Estimates are indicative. Always test-burn before selling and check the wick is safe for your wax and container.
