This Privacy Policy explains how Candle Calculator ("we", "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our website and services at candle-calculator-app.vercel.app.

Who we are

Candle Calculator is an independent project based in Malta, part of the Faluma Candles project. For any privacy question, contact us at falumacandles@gmail.com.

Information we collect

• Account information: if you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture from Google to create your account.
• Recipe data: if you save candle recipes, we store the recipe details you enter (mold size, wax type, fragrance load, etc.) linked to your account.
• Subscription status: if you subscribe to Premium, our payment processor Stripe handles your payment details directly — we never see or store your card number. We only keep a subscription status (active/inactive) and a Stripe customer reference.
• Preferences: language and unit settings are stored locally in your browser.
• Usage data: basic technical data (browser type, general device type) may be collected automatically to keep the site working correctly.

How we use your information

• To provide and operate the calculator and your account (recipes, Premium features).
• To process your Premium subscription and payments.
• To respond to support requests sent to our contact email.
• To maintain and improve the service.

Who we share it with

We share data only with the service providers that make the app work, and never sell your data:

• Google — for sign-in (authentication).
• Supabase — our database and authentication provider, which stores your account and recipe data.
• Stripe — our payment processor, which handles Premium subscription billing.

Advertising

We may show ads served by Google AdSense to support the free version of the tool. If and when ads are enabled, Google and its partners may use cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can control ad personalization in your Google Ad Settings. This policy will be updated when advertising is activated.

Cookies and local storage

We use essential cookies/local storage to keep you signed in and remember your language, unit and currency preferences. These are necessary for the site to function.

Data retention

We keep your account and recipe data for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing us.

Your rights

If you are in the EU/EEA, under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, email falumacandles@gmail.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (in Malta, the Information and Data Protection Commissioner, idpc.org.mt).

Children

Candle Calculator is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
